Back in Action

I'm back!

It's been a really long time since I last wrote. Almost six months, actually. So much has happened.

The last six months have been the most exciting, scary, busy, stressful, draining, exhilarating, surprising six months I can remember.

A lot of stuff has happened.

This is the semester that I have been dreading for about a year and a half. I knew I was going to be taking two classes at once and looking for a condo all at the same time, along with the busiest, most frustrating time at work. And all with two graduates in my classroom, which adds a whole extra layer of stress and a whole lot more of my time.

So basically for the last six months I kind of dropped off the face of the earth. I didn't really get to see anyone that often, and when I did I was stressed and grumpy.

But I have partially emerged from my cave (partially, I'm not entirely done yet) and feel like a new person, with a new condo.

That's right, I have a condo.

I own my own condo.

Crazy, huh?

It's wonderful. Not the best or fanciest condo, but it's all mine. It has two bedrooms, washer and dryer, front porch, big kitchen, three blocks from the water. And it's MINE. No roommate, no one else's mess, just mine. I can't wait.

I don't live there yet, I've been spending a while fixing it up. And slowly but surely, it's been changing from a dirty, creepy old-lady condo to my very own fresher, younger, slightly cooler condo.

GONE is the seagull wallpaper and seashell shower curtain!

GONE is the quilted star wallpaper!

GONE are the bland, boring walls!

GONE is the Jesus night light (she seriously left it for me because she thought I might want it!)

GONE is the entirely blue bedroom!

And soon, the ugly blue carpet will be GONE as well!

Also, the ancient, possessed fridge? Not long for this world!

So I have been doing a lot of painting and home improvements and will hopefully be moving in the next few weeks. Now that the craziness is almost past, hopefully I'll be able to write more.

There's still a lot I want to say, so check back throughout the summer and I'll have some more postings.

In the meantime, it feels great to be back! :)
